When people are mad at the government they have a march. A march lets the government know that people want problems fixed.

People at a march walk or stand. They hold signs that say why they are mad. They want everyone to know about problems that need to be fixed.

On January 20 th , thousands of men, women, and children were at Women’s Marches in many different cities. The people marching want several problems fixed.

4 The people marching want gender equality. That means that they want the government to help women as much as they help men.

The people marching also want racial equality. That means that they want the government to be fair to people who have brown or black skin.

The women marching want economic equality. That means they want everyone to get paid the right amount of money at work.

One of the Women’s Marches was in front of the White House in Washington D.C. The women wore pink hats. Pink is a symbol for women.

At marches, people chant. Some women chanted, “Love, not hate, makes America great.”

The senators and representatives work for the government. They see people marching. They need to fix the problems or people will vote for someone different in the next election.
