Scatter the Chimpanzee

Elvis Presley had a pet chimpanzee. His name was Scatter. Elvis loved animals. He had several pets.

Scatter was a cute baby chimp. He was on TV commercials in Memphis, Tennessee.

Elvis bought Scatter when he was older. Elvis put clothes on Scatter. Scatter lived with Elvis.

Africa

Chimpanzees are from Africa. They live in the jungle. They don’t usually live with people.

5 Chimpanzees are very strong. They love to play in the jungle in Africa.

6 Chimpanzees live with their family in the jungle. They also live with other chimps. The jungle is their habitat.

Elvis’ chimpanzee Scatter was a good chimp. But he did not behave well. He did some naughty things.

Sometimes Scatter lifted up ladies’ skirts at Elvis’ parties!! The ladies were embarrassed.

The ladies got mad at Scatter. Scatter was inappropriate . It’s not nice to lift up shirts.

Elvis had a butler. The butler helped Elvis host parties. The butler also helped take care of Scatter.

Scatter was frustrated with the butler. Scatter bit the butler. The butler was mad at Scatter. He had to get his hand bandaged.

Daisy’s wig

Elvis had a maid named Daisy. Scatter pulled off her wig. He threw it. The maid was very frustrated.

One time Scatter was traveling with Elvis. They were at a motel in Flagstaff, Arizona. Scatter pulled the curtains off the windows!!!

Then, Scatter ran out the motel door and climbed on the roof! He would not come down. Elvis was frustrated.

Scatter had to be in a cage when company was around. He was sad. Chimpanzees are not good pets. They love the jungle.
